Academic Juniors for UK students in London, Cambridge and Bristol
Combining learning with fun - Academic Summer rolls out Academic Junior course to UK students in London, Cambridge and Sidcot, near Bristol
If the idea of school during the summer holidays prompts thoughts of old-fashioned crammers or extreme helicopter parenting, it might be time to think again. Summer tuition specialist Academic Summer is once again opening up its academic summer camps to UK students aged 7-18, offering the chance for them to make friends, have fun and learn alongside children the same age from overseas. Academic Juniors is a programme aimed at 7-12-year olds which offers 20 hours a week of teaching in English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Religious Education, Technology, Art, Music, Dance and Drama. It’s aimed at parents who want to use a week or so of the long summer holidays to help their child get ahead academically, in a fun summer camp environment.
Many lessons are cross-curricular, where children study a topic or participate in a project that may include, for example, Science, Mathematics and Geography. Class sizes are limited to 12 and teaching - by fully qualified primary school teachers - includes tutor time. Tailored one-to-one coaching to prepare for the 11+ and common entrance exams is available on request. This summer, Academic Juniors (day or boarding option) will be located at Sidcot School near Bristol where students can take part in leisure activities including horse-riding and swimming or weekend trips to Longleat Safari Park, Eden Project, Cardiff and at Abbey College Cambridge which offers half day trips around Cambridge and weekend trips to Woburn Safari Park, London KidZania, Oxford or Warwick. Academic Juniors for students aged 5-12 is also available as a morning only course at DLD College, London to students living in the London area.
