Academic Summer works with UK independent boarding schools and colleges that offer excellent facilities and safe environment to students.
Typically this would be an IB World School which offers:
- Traditional architecture complemented by modern facilities
- Excellent dining facilities
- Excellent academic facilities such as science labs, library and an arts centre
- Excellent sports facilities including swimming pool, sports hall, gym and tennis courts
- Excellent IT facilities including wi-fi and interactive whiteboards
- Excellent boarding facilities, including student recreation areas, kitchens & laundry
- A nurse on call twenty-four hours a day
- A potential future school to Academic Summer programme participants
In summer 2018, Academic Juniors will be located at Abbey College Cambridge and Sidcot School near Bristol (full boarding options). Juniors can also join their family members studying on Academic Adults course and study at DLD College, London (day student option).

Academic Summer is delighted to be based at Abbey College Cambridge for the second season.
This outstanding safe and modern campus is based close to the centre of Cambridge. Pupils here will be surrounded by the beautiful architecture and historic ambiance of this fabulous city.
Abbey College Cambridge is based on a new, custom-made campus and its facilities are second to none. They include modern classrooms and 12 state-of-the-art science laboratories, a fully-equipped art studio, two dedicated music studios, gym, basketball court, sports hall, two libraries, dining hall serving fresh, nutritious meals, coffee bar, single en-suite bedrooms.
Junior students guided by their tutors will immerse themselves in the attractions of one of the UK’s most picturesque and friendly university towns.
Balmy summer days are the perfect opportunity for a spot of punting on the River Cam. Take a picnic in Botanic Gardens or wander around the University’s famous colleges.
A host of fascinating museums are yours to explore, including the Cambridge Science Museum, the Cambridge Museum of Technology, Sedgewick Museum of Earth Sciences or Denny Abbey & Framland Museumolar Museum.
London is just over an hour away and we run trips there almost every weekend, for students to visit sites such as the London Eye, the London Kidszania. When we do not go to London, juniors will enjoy beaches in Brighton and the I360 Tower.

Location: Sidcot School is in the south-west of England only 10 minutes by car from Bristol Airport and 40 minutes to the centre of Bristol. Bristol is one hour by train to London. Sidcot School is in a beautiful, safe and rural location and has outstanding facilities.
Sidcot School is a school for students age 3-18. It is an IB World School and offers the IB Diploma and A-Levels in the Sixth Form.
Sidcot School facilities include excellent sports facilities including a swimming pool, good IT facilities and wireless access throughout the campus, a library, an Art Centre with music, drama and art facilities, boarding accommodation with single and double rooms, a modern cafeteria offering three meals a day and horse-riding stables.
Sidcot School has separate boys and girls’ houses boarding accommodation on the school campus. If you over the age of 16 you can request a single room. We like students to be in mixed nationality bedrooms. There are students’ lounges, kitchens and laundry facilities in the accommodation.
You will enjoy three cooked meals a day in the school dining room.
There is a coffee shop (Sidcot Hub) for students to buy coffee, tea and snacks. This will be open daily.
If you are ill while you are on the course we have a nurse on call or we can arrange a doctor’s appointment. The Sidcot School nurse will visit the school everyday before lessons in the mornings and meet any students who would like to see her. Academic Summer's key staff are also qualified First Aiders.
Sidcot School has horse-riding stables and we can offer horse riding as an additional activity which students will need to pay for. If students would like to do horse-riding they should complete the relevant form. The cost of this is £40per hour for a group lesson. We can also arrange individual lessons on request.
